Cestas is active in over 25 countries worldwide and coordinates an average of fifty projects per year. In each country, it works in collaboration with civil society and local institutions by connecting the local and global spheres.
In developing countries Cestas promotes international cooperation projects to ensure the right to health, the implementation of good governance practices, participatory development, environmental protection and female entrepreneurship.
In Italy, Cestas promotes decentralized cooperation projects and education for global citizenship, advocacy campaigns within national and international networks in order to raise awareness among governments and to bridge the gap between the North and South of the planet.
Cestas is a non-governmental organization accredited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Italy. It is recognized by the European Union and the United Nations. It is part of the main networks of non-governmental organizations at regional, national, European and international levels. It is listed in the National Register of Civil Service.
